Say No To Animal Testing!

Hi! My name is Siffa, I’m 10 years old and I’m a student from year 5 Sekolah Cikal, Jakarta, Indonesia. At the moment I’m in the process of doing action for my PYP Exhibition. My action is to write an article about animal testing in cosmetics. I need your help to give comments after you read my article.

Enjoy reading!

Below are the types of cosmetics:
·      Soap
·      Shampoo
·      Lotion
·      Lipstick
·      Lip balm
·      Sun tan lotion
·      Powder
·      Eye shadow
·      Blush on
·      Eye liner

There are so many Cosmetic companies that use animal testing in the world. And I just want to remind you to be aware from cosmetics that use animal testing.

Do you know how cosmetics companies use animal testing? The test on animals is really harming the animals because the animals were tested at the laboratory and they were left in the cage almost more than a year after they have been tested.

The kinds of animals that they use for animal testing are: Cats, rats, dogs, rabbits, monkeys, and many more.

Do you know that Apes are almost extinct because of animal testing?

The rabbit on the above has red eyes and blind because of chemical.

In Indonesia, we do not have certain rules about animal experiment on cosmetics. We only have “Undang undang dasar no. 5 tahun 1990 (keaneka ragam hayati dan ekosistem).”

To find out more details about animal testing in cosmetics you can go to:

Animal has their own rights, they completed the usefulness of humans. Animals are living things, they are the same like us.
Now before you buy cosmetics, please be wise, look at the ingredients, and look for no animal testing symbol.

Do you know that you can make a homemade soap?
Making homemade soap can save us money. You can use fruits or veggies to make it. It is easy to do. If you want to learn more about animal testing for cosmetics and buy a special homemade soap that made by scavengers/street sweeper from Sekolah Kami, you can go to my exhibition on Thursday, February 27th, 2014, at Sekolah Cikal, Jl. TB. Simatupang kav. 18, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Help defend the animal rights by being a wise consumer before you buy your cosmetics products!    -Siffa-
